Filipino Style Fruit Salad
2 large cans (29 oz) fruit cocktail
1 can (20 oz) pineapple tidbits
1 can (60 oz) all-purpose cream (whipping cream)
14 oz condensed milk
1 jar (12 oz) nata de coco (coconut jelly)
2 pcs apples, cubes with skin on (optional)
1 cup young coconut, shredded (optional)
- Drain the juice from the fruit cocktail and pineapple tidbits. Let it strain for a good 15 minutes or until the liquid is totally drained. Do this to avoid the salad from getting soggy.
- Transfer drained fruits in a large mixing bowl. Add the nata de coco, apples and shredded young coconut. Mix lightly to avoid crushing the fruits.
- Add condensed milk (to taste) and then add your preferred amount of cream. Mix well to evenly distribute the milk and cream.
- Chill in the refrigerator for a couple hours before serving.
